King of the Hammers

As many of you know Luke has been working on his Jeep for the last few months nonstop. It was all in preparation for an event called King of the Hammers. It is in Johnson valley, California...aka...the middle of nowhere. King of the Hammers is a 160 someodd mile race across the desert and up super steep rock hills. My description probably doesn't do it justice;) Luke went down to help in the pit crew for some of his friends racing the 'big wig' jeeps....and to play with his jeep and have a good time. They were gone for 10 days, slept in their enclosed trailer and didn't shower for a week! ewww... But he came back safely and happy as a clam. Sooo, while luke was gone, here are some things we did:) Landon got his first real haircut at my friend tara's salon. He did really well, mostly because he got to suck on a blue sucker the whole time! his mouth was completly blue when we were done.

That thursday morning josie woke up with a high fever and complaining that her tummy hurt. So I stayed home from work to take care of my sickko....she never puked but slept most of the morning...here is landon hanging out with her on the couch.

Landon found the bucket I had put next to josie (in case she puked) and thought it was fun to put in on his head!

Friday, Josie insisted that she felt better and wanted to go visit grandma and grandpa in Ellensburg...so we went. Here is Landon eating cheerios in my old highchair:)

Saturday, Josie's fever came back and she spent all day in bed or on the couch sleeping. By sunday she felt 'better'...so we went outside to play for a little while. Josie got to ride the 3 wheeler all by herself. My dad put the restricter screw in it so it can only go so fast. This was my 3 wheeler my parents bought me when I was 4 years old...now my dad uses it around the property to change irrigation pipe and fix fences.

Landon got to ride it with grandpa and then he couldn't get enough...here he is sitting on it by himself.

Luke made it home by sunday night and it was perfect because Josie had her preschool valentines day party on monday. So we all went to her party...here they are singing for us.

We are all glad that luke is now home. He is already planning the trip for next year. Josie is feeling better and this weekend we are just laying low. Next weekend we are looking forward to going to Silver Mountain Resort in Idaho for a fun overnight stay with the kids. They have an indoor waterpark and sledding hills that I think the kids will really enjoy:)
