Last Sunday we dropped both kids off at camp. Landon was first. He went to a camp in Post Falls, Idaho. His good friend Miles invited him. It was a 3 day overnight camp. Landon had never been to overnight camp but was excited to go.

He picked a top bunk and then said goodbye. He didn't seem to be sad when we left so that made it easier to leave him.

The camp is on a river and had a really pretty setting.
Next it was Josie's turn. She went to horse camp for a whole week with her friend Rowan. Josie went to this camp last year and loved it so she was very excited. The girls got beds next to each other.
The camp only takes 16 girls each week. They stay in the same cabin and ride horses, climb rock walls and float the river...among other things.

Both camps posted some pictures during the week so I had proof my kids were still alive. There is no correspondence with the kids while they are there. Josie's camp let parents send emails, but the kids can't respond.

I didn't see any pictures of Landon at his camp, but after he came home they posted a few. Here is one of him at camp...not sure what he was doing, but he said he had fun. Luke picked him up Wednesday afternoon. Landon said he only cried once, the first night, but then he was fine. He said next year he wants to go for a full week.

Friday we picked up Josie. I decided to go without anything covering my head. I asked Landon what he thought and he said that he didn't think I needed a wig anymore. So I threw some earrings on and left the house. I think losing my hair has been one of the more difficult parts of this whole thing. It is hard to look in the mirror and not recognize your reflection.
The drive up to Josie's camp is really pretty. We were a little early so we stopped and watched some fly fisherman catching some fish.
In certain lights my hair looks grey...but It's not...just some speckles.
When you pick up your kid at horse camp they sing some songs and tell you about the week. Then they get to paint their horses and do a performance for you. Josie had a really good horse.

Josie and Rowan had a great time and both want to go again next year.
We stopped on the way back for ice cream.
The camp sent some pics after Josie got home. This was a cute one.

We headed home, grabbed Joey and Walter and headed for Schweitzer. We finally closed on our new condo so we wanted to head up and check it out. Josie had never seen the inside of it. The people we bought it from were the original owners and never really updated so the condo has some nice 80's touches. We are on the 3rd floor so we can see the lake through the trees.
This is a light that is in the stairwell that goes to the upstairs bedroom. It is a blue 'candle' light. I think it might be an original with the condo.

The downstairs bathroom has this sign on it. I googled it and it means 'Guests' in German.
In the morning we woke up and had some coffee on our new porch. We saw a moose and her baby walk by, it was pretty cool.
Walter likes to sit on the porch...He was checking out the moose. I tried to get a picture of the moose and her baby but they were behind the trees by the time I got my phone.

These will need to go ASAP....the original wood toothbrush holders!
After breakfast we headed up to the village. We took Joey with us so he could socialize and get used to walking on a leash.
Landon spent about 3 hours rock climbing.

Luke stayed in the village with Joey and Landon while the rest of us headed up the chair lift for a ride.

They are putting in 2 new lifts on the backside of the mountain so we could see where they have been cutting a path for the lifts.
Riding the chair down is always a fun thing. It's not something we ever do in the winter.
The kids wanted to zipline but you have to weigh 60 pounds or more and Landon is only 52. He was bummed. Josie made friends with a little girl and did the zipline a couple of times.

We spent all of Saturday at the mountain and then came home so we could take the boat out on Sunday. Josie brought her friend Gabby with us. We went to our usual spot, Blue Lake off the CDA river.
We were the only ones on the whole lake for a while.

Gabby had never been tubing...so we introduced her to this horrific sport. She loved it.
We ended up running into some friends we hadn't seen in a while. So we all got to hang out for the afternoon.

We stopped on our way back at Harrison for some traditional ice cream cones.
It was a busy weekend but we had a lot of fun. Today was filled with house chores and catching up on not being home. The kids spent the day at a friends house. I had to buy crickets for the kids geckos. The geckos go crazy when you dump the crickets in and will eat at least 10 a piece. I got a video of Landon's gecko eating 2 crickets.
Landon got a much needed haircut today...He lost a lot of hair today!
I started taking my hormone blocking pill on Friday. I have to take it every day for the next 5 years. So far I haven't noticed any side effects so I'm hoping it stays that way!
