two week review

I came across this saying the other day and it made me laugh....because it is so TRUE!!

 Last weekend the weather was beautiful and we did some yard work around the house. Landon was excited to wear his sunglasses.

Luke and Rudy rented some equipment to help move some dirt. We have huge holes in the outlying areas of our actual lawn which we still mow. It is a bit scary to mow it because it is so uneven I'm always worried that the lawn mower is going to tip over. Luke was trying to fill in the holes to make the ground even but the equipment was on wheels, not tracks so it started to make huge ruts in the ground.....so we decided to wait and get one on tracks to do that job.

We have a drainage problem on the side of our house so we had to fix it:)

The kids got to ride in the equipment quite a bit. Here is josie with rudy.

They made a rock walkway instead of dirt and then made a huge drainage area with big rock so the water will go underground, not on top of it.

Then they added some stairs to make it easier to walk down.

The fire department was doing some training across the street.

Soccer season is back in full swing:)

 Landon loves playing and hanging out with the other siblings during soccer games.

 Last Wednesday our office went to the funeral for one of our patients. He was 100 years old. We all had attended his 100th birthday and have become friends with his family. Legally I'm not supposed to acknowledge a patient outside of the office...but I'm pretty sure Bud wouldn't mind me writing about him in my blog...or his family:)

This weekend Luke's parents came to visit. Josie had a soccer game saturday morning, but unfortunately it was about 42 degrees with off and on rain and wind....Not very warm. Josie was too concerned with being cold than playing soccer. She pulled it together towards the end of the game and almost scored a goal, but It was not her best performance.

 The girls started to put their jerseys on over their coats to stay warm. Here is coach Dave giving the girls some strategic tips and a pep talk.

 Afterwards Tom and Carol took us out to lunch:)

 We had a nice visit with them. It was too bad the weather was not nicer. Luke and I were able to slip away to watch American Sniper. We both read the book while on vacation so we were excited to see the movie! Thanks Tom and Carol!
Today the weather was very nice and so we decided to go for a hike! We went to the Dishman Hills natural area which is only about 10 minutes from our house. We have never explored it until today and it was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast and burned off most of their energy.

And that has been our life for the last 2 weeks.....
