Last week I headed to Austin Texas to visit my friend Andrea. We had 6 fun filled days of excitement. Friday night we went to a local bar and had fun dancing.
Andrea lives on Lake Travis....but they are in a serious drought so the lake is dried up in front of their house! This is the 'lake'. so sad.
Saturday it was 111 degrees out so we went out on Andreas friends boat because it is moored on lake travis. We waited at this really nice pool for her friend to arrive.
The water was almost 90 degrees! we had a great time swimming and wakesurfing.
meanwhile....back at home. The kids got to go swimming with friends. Landon took a nap on the floaty:)
The spokane balloon flew 10 feet over our house!
Sunday we went to the longhorn caves and went spelunking. I didn't take very many pics, Andreas husband did, but they haven't sent them to me yet:)After spelunking...we went to Trapeze Austin. Andrea has been doing it for a while so she took me. It was probably one of the coolest things I have ever done. Although, after 2 hours of trapeze I had bruises on the backs of my legs, rope burns and was very very sore!!
Here I am on the flying trapeze!!
After tubing, we continued south to San Antonio. When we arrived, there was quite a commotion. they were doing a promotional thing for the boxers canelo alvarez and mayweathers. We didn't really know who they were so we took a picture and headed for the riverwalk for dinner.
Here is the Alamo...
and the river walk
Tuesday we took andreas boat out onto Lake austin. the water was a nice 87 degrees:) we planned on more wakesurfing and wakeboarding but were still sore from trapeze, so we just toured the lake and hung out.
Here we are:)
That evening we drove the boat to a restaurant on the water for dinner.this is lake austin...
I had a great time in Austin. It was such a nice break to not be a mom for 6 whole days!!
After I got back from Austin, we headed up to Lake Roosevelt to spend the weekend with my parents. They brought the motorcycles so josie could ride. Here she is wearing my helmet and 3 wheeler that I have had since I was 3 or 4 years old:)
One night there was a fire. It was quickly put out though.
Josie giving cookie a ride.
Landon had his first tubing adventure...and loved it!
My parents and the kids
Josie falls asleep in about 10 seconds when we get on the boat...here are a couple of her sleeping positions.Fishing with grandpa....He almost fell asleep.
He finally fell asleep while he was 'driving the boat' with 'bumpa'. that is landon's word for grandpa.
the last day we were at the lake, my parents went on a motorcycle ride. Josie rode on the front of my dad's bike and mom rode ahead of them. They were on a dirt road and coming the other way were 2 16 year olds driving too fast in a honda accord. They came around the corner, driving at my parents. To avoid being hit, by mom had to lay her bike down and thank goodness, my dad and Josie were far enough behind that they were able to get out of the way. Long story short, the driver of the car was ticketed for wreckless driving and my mom has an ankle the size of a softball from the bike crashing on top of her leg. It could have been way worse, My mom went to the hospital and thankfully didn't break anything...just scared the crap out of all of us!! Here she is writing a 'statement' for the police.
Now Im back to work this week...bummer. This weekend we are headed to the deschutes river to go camping with luke's parents and the cousins:)....
