Lately Landon's behavior has been less than stellar. He tests our patience and our parenting skills daily. Josie has always been our 'easy' kid. She is pretty mild mannered, a rule follower and rarely gets into trouble. Landon will straight up tell you 'no' and could care less what his consequences are. 'Time outs' just don't seem to work for him. We have tried spanking, but honestly, I think we would be spanking him every day because he flat out doesn't care.. He can be so sweet and is a good kid at heart, but lately we are at a loss for correcting his poor behavior. We came up with an idea for a reward chart. To make it fair, we made one for Josie too. We started it last week and so far Landon has only earned 2 stickers...Josie is up to 6:)...I thought it was working well, but after skiing with him all weekend, I don't think he cares about stickers either...
Josie and Landon were having some quiet time the other day..Landon colored some pictures for his friend Logan. Josie wrote her friend Berkeley back. Her friend Berkeley is her best friend that she ski's with. She fell while skiing and has not been able to race or ski for the past few weeks. Josie was very sad and so she wrote her a note. Berkeley wrote her back and so Josie sent her a care package with another note.
This was Josie's note back:)
This one too...for those of you who ordered girl scout cookies, they should be here by this weekend!
We got the pictures back from the Daddy Daughter Dance that Luke went to with Josie. Originally she didn't want to go, but the day before she changed her mind.
Soccer season in upon us...The weather has been cold and wet, but Josie has been a trooper. I don't think soccer is her most favorite sport, but she loves to play with her friends.
There is a new app called Face Swap...me and Landon...
me and Josie...
This one might be my favorite..me and my co worker Josh:)
me and my other co-worker stephanie:)
This weekend Josie didn't have any races, just practice. It poured rain all day on saturday, but most of the team showed up. By saturday afternoon it was just 3 girls, Josie being one of them. She loves to ski rain or shine! When we got to the village Josie saw her friend Berkeley! She apparently had a torn meniscus, but was cleared to ski by her doctor.
Landon did a craft after lunch to do something other than be outside in the rain.
Sunday the weather was much better. the day started off well and Landon's spirits were high:) When we get to the village, there is a big snow pile that the kids hike to the top of and then race down...
Landon loves to ski....but he doesn't like to listen, or follow directions. He refuses to put his ski pole straps on around his wrists, so when he falls, his poles go flying everywhere and I am the one who has to ski uphill to go get them!! He flat out refused to wear the straps, so we took his poles away from him that afternoon. Then, we were taking him down a run that he doesn't like and he realized it at the last moment, so when we told him to stop...he kept skiing and turned down a different run that he liked, instead of the other one! Then, after lunch, he was mad that we didn't want to do a run he wanted to so he skied with us and cried the whole way up the chair lift and all the way down the run.
The view from the mountain is always more spectacular in person, but I took a picture to try and capture the view.
I ran into Josie practicing her one skiing and was very impressed. They practice skiing on one ski so if they are racing and lose a ski, they can finish the race on one ski!
This weekend Josie has races on saturday and sunday at Lookout Pass. It is the finals and her race team is in 1st place so far! We are staying in a town called Wallace which is close to the ski resort so the kids are excited because there is a pool:)
