Landon made a rocket ship out of a box and flew to the moon several times!
Friday the kids didn't have school so Josie went thursday night with her friend Isabel to Silver mountain. They got to stay at the condo's there and go to the indoor waterpark all day friday. Her mom char sent me a photo of the girls eating lunch at the park.
Friday Night we picked up Josie on our way up to Schweitzer. We woke saturday morning to down pouring rain! Josie went with her team and Luke and I skied with Landon. We took 3 runs and were completely drenched. Landon was in good spirits but we headed in for some hot chocolate. Carli and Jaxs came up to play in the snow, but didn't last long due to the rain. I tried to capture the rain in a chairlift selfie...but luke was making a weird face (on purpose) and landon wasn't even looking at the camera:)
a few minutes later Josie and her team came into the lodge, completely drenched. Her coach took them downstairs and was teaching them all sorts of ski racing things....we decided to call it a day by 11am! Luke and Rudy left for Bend, Or to go on a 'work trip' at mt Bachelor, while Carli and I loaded up all 4 kids and headed home. There was a race at Mt. Spokane on Sunday so we took the girls. Carli dropped Jaxs off at her sister in laws house and I dropped Landon off at my friend Lisa's house. Lisa has a son named trent that Landon Loves, so Landon was very excited to have a sleep over with Trent. Lisa sent me some pictures of Landon and Trent having fun. They stayed up late, played games, watched movies and landon even slept in until 9:30! which is unheard of!
Sunday morning we woke up at 5am, Carli and Lila picked us up at 6 and we were to Mt. Spokane by 7am! The weather was pouring rain...once again, windy and we thought for sure they would cancel the race....NOPE.... The pictures don't really do it Justice....but we were soaked...just from walking from the car to the lodge! Carli was not impressed:)
Thank goodness one of the other families had an extra poncho that josie was able to wear. Most kids either had a poncho or gortex something...
Josie and Lila...all ready to go!
This was Lila's 1st 'away race. She did great.
All the kids meet their Coaches at 8:15 in the morning...When we were waiting for the first chair to load a huge wind gust came up and I happened to have my camera rolling. Kids were crying, blowing away and holding on for dear life!
some random photo's of the girls inbetween wet runs! someone was handing out flower leis.
Josie with her hand in a bag of Mini Eggs:)...a must have treat while ski racing:)
After a long, wet day....we headed home. Landon got to go to the movies with Lisa and Trent, so we picked him up around 7:30. Lisa sent me a picture of the boys passed out in the car after a long, fun day:)
Rudy bought Carli and I matching Schweitzer Hats on Saturday and wanted to see a pic of us in them...Instead Landon and I took some crazy selfies and sent them:)
Josie's good friend Berkeley who she ski's with fell a couple of weeks ago while skiing and hurt her knee. She hasn't been able to ski and Josie has been very worried about her. Josie wrote her a letter and asked how she was doing. Berkeley wrote back...In cursive. She's a year older than Josie and lives in Sandpoint. She wrote that she might have fractured her growth plate or torn her meniscus. Josie has been doing crafts and is going to write her back soon. It's nice that she has made some good friendships through skiing this year.
Carli sent me a couple of pics from last week when the weather was so nice.
It was a busy, crazy, fun weekend. They always seem to go by so fast!
