Her friends Emma and Mckenna received awards for another character trait too.
This is the new staff photo of our office...we have a male assistant now so everyone thinks he is the dr. Dr.murdoch is the blonde sitting next to me.
The weather was so nice after school on friday. Landon asked me if he could join a little league team. So I signed him up. It doesn't start until May, but he seems excited.
Friday night we went up to the condo. It was lila's birthday so we made cupcakes.
Saturday morning we all went skiing. Landon was having such a great time....
and then.....He wasn't. He didn't want to go the way I needed him to go. So that started an EPIC meltdown with him threatening to stab me with his ski poles and calling me mean....that was the end of the fun with landon. Rudy hid a bunch of candy and toys around the mountain and then made a scavenger hunt for the kids to find it. Landon lost his scavenger hunting privileges so I went up with the girls.
After the hunt it was warm and the snow got really slushy. Carli had reserved a room at the lodge so we could have access to the pool. The kids had a great time swimming.
After the pool party the kids and I headed for Ellensburg. Sunday we spent with my parents the kids had fun riding horses, motorcycles, and Landon finally rode his bike without training wheels.
Josie had to earn money for her class. They are raising money to buy a goat for a family in Africa. Each kid had to earn $3.12. My dad had some chores for josie to do to earn the money. He ended up giving her a little extra for all the help:)
Josie helped my dad move cinder blocks and rake out the back yard area.
Landon was so proud to ride his bike without training wheels.
She slept for most of the 5 hour trip:)
Meanwhile...Landon got to go to costco with my dad and get pizza:)
Patrick and Lynda live 22 minutes away from Mt. Bachelor. Patrick had to work and their boys had school, so Me, Lynda and Josie headed for the mountain. It was a beautiful day!
Josie had a great time!..
The Summit is around 9000 ft! This is the top of the lift that you take to get there.
All 3 of us at the Summit!
Thank goodness I got a discount lift ticket because Lynda had a 'buddy pass'...
We ate lunch out on the patio with a beautiful view!
Josie loved the Half Pipe:)
After a fun afternoon of skiing we went to pick up Lynda's son Sevrin. He is 2 weeks older than Josie. Her older son Ben had running club after school so we went to starbucks for an afternoon treat:)
The nice thing about Bend is that going to starbucks in your ski gear is totally acceptable:)
Meanwhile....back in Ellensburg...My dad got out my old train set for Landon to play with. I remember how cool it was as a kid. At one time there was a whole city with trees and houses. It was a pretty elaborate set up. The receipt in the box where my dad kept the trains said 1987. Landon loved it.
My dad had a dr. appointment and had to bring landon. He said that Landon was a good boy and got to go to McDonalds afterwards.
Tuesday after skiing we took the dogs for a walk by the river.
Patrick is a very talented artist and loves to paint. He offered to paint a picture with Josie. Josie loves horses so Patrick spent 2 nights after working all day to help Josie with a project.
The finished Project! Josie had so much fun! Patrick gave us one of his awesome horse paintings that we can hang up next to the one josie painted. Thank you so much Patrick!
Wednesday we decided to go for a hike. The weather was very warm and so it was nice to be outside and not be wearing ski gear:) We went to Poulina falls. In the summer it is packed with tourists. You can go down the waterfalls in just your bathingsuit. We were the only ones there. It was so much fun! We first hiked to a cool waterfall closer to where we parked and then hiked a mile or so back to the other falls.
We had stopped and bought subway sandwiches to enjoy on the shores of the river:) Subway is Josie's Favorite. I think she asked to eat there every time I asked her where she wanted to eat:)
Lynda brought her puppy, mouse...Josie now wants a 'mouse' dog.
These are the falls you can go down in the summer when the water is a little higher.
We went to take the kids swimming after dinner at a really cool club that Patrick and Lynda belong to. Ben decided he didn't want to swim and then strangely enough Josie decided she didn't want to either?!
Meanwhile...back in Ellensburg, Landon Loves my dad's dog Shelby.
Thursday we dropped the boys off at school, hit up Starbucks and then headed to the High Desert Museum. I have driven by that place hundreds of times. I went to school in Klamath Falls so HWY 97 was a major part of my life for 2 years. I never knew what the museum was or what they even had. Patrick had free passes for us to go, so Josie was very excited. They rehabilitate and care for injured animals or house and take care of animals who cannot be reintroduced into the wild. They have new exhibits all the time. They were renovating the otter exhibit so josie was bummed that we couldn't see the otters.
we watched a cool porcupine and bird presentation.
Josie took a picture of the porcupine's tail
We had to head back to Ellensburg Thursday afternoon. We had such a fun time with the Murphy family. It was nice to spend some one on one time with Josie too. She is at such a fun age and I just love being with her and watching her learn and grow. I'm hoping she stays that way!! Friday my mom took the day off of work and we headed out to Vantage, the columbia river about 25 minutes from my parents house. The weather was summer like and we had a great day. Yahtzee is a beach favorite.
The water was cold, but the kids still went swimming.
Saturday we hung out and rode horses. Landon was excited to show Josie how to work the train set.
Dad wearing Landon's helmet.
Mom and Josie
I rode with Josie and Landon rode with me for a bit.
The kids and I came home on saturday evening. We went out to dinner at PF Changs as a family. When we were killing time at the mall waiting for a table they had some of the Gonzaga Basketball players signing autographs and Josie had her picture taken with them. Landon was too scared to have is picture taken with them....They were very tall:)
It was nice to be home but now it's back to reality. We had such a fun week. Thanks to my Parents for hanging out with Landon while Josie and I went to Bend. Landon was very excited to have some one on one time with just grandpa and grandma. Luke's birthday was Sunday so we did some spring cleaning and then Rudy and Luke cooked steak and lobster tail.
I bought some pictures that the photographer at Schweitzer took of Josie at her final race of the season. Ski season is officially over. Josie really took to racing this year and has become quite the little skier. We are so proud of her.
Today Josie had her first Golf Lesson. There is a program called the First Tee. She will go every monday for a few months. Luke loves to golf so he really wanted to have her learn...because that way he might have someone in the family to golf with when we go on vacation:) Landon starts soccer this friday and is excited. He asked to play this year and it's good exercise so I figured why not:) It will be nice to be home on the weekends now. I loved ski season...but am looking forward to a break from going to the mountain every single weekend!
