We had some more snow. Not a ton, but enough to catch snowflakes on your tongue while waiting for the bus:)
the kids were riding down the hill on their sleds, but riding them like snowboards.
Last saturday we headed up to the mountain to get settled in our condo and make sure the kids remembered how to ski. I love our little ski condo. It is small but cozy and it's on the mountain, so that is perfect. This is our condo...Die Schmetterling #20. I googled what Die Schmetterling mean, apparently it means butterfly in German. Which makes sense, because on the outside of the building there is a big butterfly.
The owner of the condo is a single guy...and you can tell by the decor. Landon thinks this is the funniest picture ever. It is in the bathroom:)
Landon was very eager and excited to ski this year.
The weather was great and the kids were excited. They strapped on their ski's and both remembered right away! Thank goodness! Landon had one mishap and ended up staying on the chairlift instead of getting off. The lift operator was not paying attention. He handled it pretty well and continued to ski. I was very proud of both kids. As soon as we got to the lifts my phone quit working. So I only have a few photos of our day.
The day was a success, way better than the first day of ski season last year! Landon had a bit of a meltdown on the way home...He was not pleased with me taking pictures:)
eventually he fell asleep.
We came home that night and went to look for our Christmas tree. We went to our usual place and a 6 foot tree was 80 bucks! I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on something that is just going to die and be burned in a few weeks. So I successfully convinced my family that a fake tree was the way to go. Josie took some convincing but she came around! Carli gave us a hard time and then bought us a Christmas tree smelling candle:) It's 9 feet, full of lights, and will pay for itself in just 2 years:)
Sunday Luke went to the SeaHawks game.
Monday night we celebrated an early Christmas with my parents. We went to Tomato Street for dinner and then came home to open presents and eat pumpkin cheesecake.
I got this mat for my parents new 5th wheel.
Josie with her new fuzzy blanket:)
Landon got an air hockey game.
Thanks for a great early Christmas mom and dad!
Tuesday my parents 5th wheel had an accident. My mom had come into our house for a few minutes to pack some boxes in preparation for moving into the new 5th wheel. She was here by herself because my dad had run into town to have the oil changed in the truck. She came outside and heard the smoke alarm in the 5th wheel. She ran to open the door and said that black smoke came billowing out of the trailer and it was very hot. My dad's dog Shelby and my mom's dog, Cookie were unconscious and laying inside. My mom's phone randomly stopped working so she had to run up to our neighbors house for help. Carli's dad was randomly at her house and came to help. My mom and Carli's dad did CPR on the dogs and called the fire department. My dad came home and they brought the dogs to the vet. It is amazing that the dogs are ok. They are on medication and starting to breathe better now. There was a space heater inside the 5th wheel that must have gotten too hot. It was not tipped over but it was completely melted. The 5th wheel is a total loss. Unfortunately some of our christmas presents were melted.
The air conditioner melted from the ceiling.
My mom's Purse!
They have insurance so they are going through all the paperwork to get the ball rolling. There is a company that comes and picks up your smoke damaged clothes, shoes and whatever got damaged and they professionally clean it. We are just thankful that no one was hurt and it looks like the dogs are going to be ok!
