We went up to the mountain on Thursday night. The kids didn't have school on Friday so we went up early to ski with them. Friday was also 'ski free Toyota day'. If you drive a Toyota, you get a free lift ticket. Turns out everyone in the Inland Northwest must drive a Toyota because it was packed!
They were giving out some free swag.
Jaxs can now ski to the back side of the mountain and was super excited to ski with Landon. Landon felt pretty cool teaching Jaxs how to ski. He even helped him pick up his ski's and put them in the ski racks when they got to the lodge.
Josie and Lila are old enough to go off on their own, but they met up with us for a snack on the back side.
Friday night there was so much snow that they didn't race due to the course having too much snow on it! Instead we just showed up for awards:) Landon won runner up for most improved boy and his team won runner up for most improved team....He got a trophy for his runner up status of most improved boy. Josie's team won most improved team so they all got medals:)
Schweitzer had had over 4 feet of snow in the past week. Our condo is on the ground floor and the snow is as high as our windows!
Luke made a cool shelf for our helmets out of old barnwood and put it up so our helmets have a home:)
Luke had left our BBQ out overnight...We could barely find in the next morning.
Sunday we took the day off from skiing and took the kids to the Monster Jam....I think it was the highlight of Landon's life. Josie really enjoyed it too. The Spokane arena has some random statues...Landon got a kick out of this one;)
El Toro Loco was Landon's favorite.
They had a side by side race too, I think Josie went into a panic when she saw them flipping and rolling. She personally has flipped in one so she gets really nervous watching it.
We all had a great time until the very end and Landon realized we were not buying him a toy....He had a meltdown and cried all the way to the car! While we were sitting in the parking lot explaining the word 'grateful' to Landon there was a dad spanking and yelling at his son...apparently monster Jam made for more than one meltdown:)
