Christmas and Landon's hospital stay

This year my parents came to our house to celebrate Christmas. Josie was very excited this year. Landon could have cared less, as long as he had food and a clean diaper he was satisfied. Here is Josie with her new Christmas nightgown. Landon with his 'first Christmas' ornament.

Josie opening her christmas ornament.
Grandma and Grandpa bought her a horse that she can ride and brush. It even makes noises when you feed it a carrot. Josie also got a black tutu from skip and cathy. (Thank you guys for all the gifts you sent!!) Josie wore her new outfit to the mall the next day:)

Josie leaving cookies and milk for santa...after this picture she said 'we have to leave some water for the reindeer'. so we left some water out for santa's reindeer.
We spent the christmas morning opening presents and eating goodies. The snow was slim but it was a nice day so we bundled up and had a bonfire/sledding party with our neighbors. Landon got a new snow suit from GG (great grandma) he slept the whole day bundled up. This was also a sign that he may not be feeling well.

Last spring we transplanted a bunch of trees to our property, but most of them died....so luke and rudy pulled them out with the jeep to use for our bonfire.

This was the only decent video I took, but we tied sampson to josie's sled and then threw something for him. He was quite the sled dog and Josie had a blast. One time I think he took her on a ride going top speed for half the property! We gave him prime rib bones that night!

Josie and Lila had fun sledding all afternoon. Josie didn't take a nap all day, she was pretty wiped!

The day after christmas we all started getting sick with a cold. Landon was having a hard time breathing through all his snot and had a fever. I called the dr. and they said to bring him to the ER right away. They gave him an IV, swabbed his nose, tested his spinal fluid, did a chest x ray, and a breathing treatment! Poor little guy!! At about midnight, they said that because of his age and the fact that he had a high fever that he had to stay the night in the hospital. Luke and I were both sick and spending the night in the hospital was not fun! Landon was hooked up to a bunch of beeping flashing monitors that kept going off and waking him up. Nurses kept coming in...it was a rough night!
The next day the dr. said he had to stay another night because at this age things can go from bad to worse very fast.....My parents were still at our house taking care of josie. The hospital doesn't let siblings stay there or be there during cold and flu season. My parents had to leave monday afternoon, so I went home to stay with Josie and Luke got to stay the night with landon on the super uncomfortable couch:)...he did score some daddy points...I took some nyquil and went to bed as soon as josie did. Here is the little man when he got his IV...it took up his whole arm!

After two days in the hospital the dr. said that all the tests came back normal and Landon was free to go home. we just have to monitor his temperature and overall health...He seems to be doing better and slept his usual 8 hours last night, so I think he is on the mend. Here he is in the hospital 'crib'.

other than the ER visit and Hospital stay our christmas was great. Landon slept all through christmas morning but I don't think he cared. It appears he likes sleep as much as his mommy. Thanks to everyone for their phone calls and kind words on FaceBook when Landon was in the hospital. I go back to work next week so Im hoping we all get better soon!! Now that christmas is over we are getting 7-12 more inches of snow today...Looks like more sledding! Poor sampson:)
