schweitzer weekend

Saturday Josie had another basketball game. She is really enjoying it and played well. Sunday we went up to Schweitzer Mountain in northern Idaho. It is our favorite resort to ski at around here and so we bought spring season passes because they were a really good deal:) We will ski out the rest of the season there. Sunday morning we got up to the mountain and it was raining, foggy and had 40mph winds. But we had made arrangements for Landon to hang out at a friends house and Josie still wanted to go skiing. Here she is on the lift.

The weather was really foggy and when we got off of the lift you could barely see where to go! I took this picture as we were entering the fog bank.
Josie and I in the pouring rain:)...still smiling! well, at least josie was.

On the way home, Josie passed out in the backseat...Not the safest of sleeping positions. Don't worry, she moved shortly after this picture so her face wasn't in the seat belt.
Being that Luke and I never did anything for our 10 year wedding anniversary, we decided to spend the day today up at Schweitzer....Just the 2 of us. Today was completely opposite as yesterday. Sunny, warm, and nobody was there because it was a weekday. We started out with lunch in the village. Schweitzer has a small village of restaurants, stores and hotels.
Here we are at the top of the hill.

I wish it would have been this nice on sunday when josie was with us, but it was so nice to ski without a 6 year old for once.

This is the entrance to one of the chairlifts. It was designed by a guy who makes rides for Disneyland. It's pretty cool inside the barn and the chair fits 6 people across....
Enjoying the sunshine.
Now back to the work week. Josie has a musical performance tomorrow at school and it is a western theme. It is at 9am, so Luke told her he would go watch her. She said it was only for 'old people'....so Im assuming it is a grandparents thing, but luke will go and represent the 'old people' of our family:) After 20 minutes of trying on different outfits....this is what we came up with!

Last week it rained a bunch on monday...so I let landon put on his rain boots and play in the puddles with Walter:)

Friday we are headed up to Schweitzer again for the weekend. Our friend Rudy is doing a 24 hour ski race for charity. It is called 24 hours for hank.  if you click on this link it will tell you all about it.  www.24hoursforhank.org He will ski from 8pm friday to 8am saturday morning. We are going to go up and be his 'pit crew' through the night and make sure he survives. Saturday night is the banquet and fundraiser dinner so we will stay saturday and ski and then stay the night too. My parents will come stay at our house and take care of the kids. Happy St. Patricks day....I don't think I even wore green today...shame on me.
