School pictures and a Hood River Get Away...

The kids school pictures came back. Josie was doing her 'fake' smile...but at least her hair made it to school without getting too messed up:)...Landon is smiling big like usual:) at least with Landon I don't have to worry about him messing up his hair!

Every year I get together with my friend Jen. We met in Dental Hygiene school and were roommates in Klamath Falls. After school we moved into a sweet duplex in Portland and were roommates until we both met our Husbands:) She lives in Salem and so we always try to find a place half way between our towns...Last year we went to Reno to our friends wedding and the year before that we met in the Seattle area. I left friday and arrived in Hood River at the Best Western....where Jen said she had booked the Hotel:) We went to check in and they had no reservation for us!! So Jen checked her email and it turns out she had booked us to stay at the Best Western in Cascade Locks...Cascade Locks is about 20 minutes west of hood river, so we packed up and headed west:) Turns out the hotel in Cascade Locks was way nicer and had amazing views. We even had a balcony that over looked the Bridge of the Gods and the Columbia River!

We were close to a small town called Stevenson so we crossed the bridge and went out to dinner. It was so great to sit and talk and enjoy the evening.
Saturday morning we woke up and drove back to hood river to the Columbia Gorge Hotel Spa...We had booked a 4 hour spa day. We each got a massage, facial manicure and Pedicure...It was very relaxing! After, we came back to Cascade Locks and went for a stroll on the Pacific Crest Trail.
It's funny because I have driven by this area hundreds of times but have never stopped other than to pee or get gas:) It is such a beautiful area.

We took a lot of 'selfies' due to our lack of asking people to take our pictures:)
We went out to dinner and then went back to Hood River to see the movie Everest. It didn't start until 9:20 pm...it was a late night for these 2 mommas! Other than the 2 annoying teenagers who were on their cell phones and talking throught the entire movie....It was great! Jen put the smack down on them and then they ended up leaving the movie early....damn kids:)
Sunday we woke up and drove...once again to Hood River....We shopped downtown and then had lunch down on the waterfront. The weather was beautiful and it was sad to say goodbye, but we will look forward to our get together next year! Thanks for a great weekend Jen!!

Every year Jen donates to the 'keep landon clothed' fund....I came home with a huge box of clothes for Landon. Jen has 2 boys so Landon reeps the benefits. Josie helped sort all the clothes and found that she fit into some too...
Landon was very excited for all the Beaver Gear! The Jersey was a huge hit!
Of course this hat was in the box too...He had to wear it to school today. He said that the guy with the reindeer on the movie Frozen has a hat just like it...so he wanted to be like him:)
Landon had soccer practice friday night. Luke sent me a couple of photos:)

Josie's Speed Suit came today. It is what you wear for Ski Racing:) She was very excited. As soon as she got home from school she had to put it on:)
Landon brought home a little book about himself today...He outlined his career goals and some of his favorite things:)

And one last bit of info....the older lady that lives across the street from rudy and carli is a bit odd. A long time ago she told me that Dinosaurs were pulling people out of their cars at Lake Roosevelt and that we should be careful when going there. She owns A LOT of cats...Well, I got a text from Rudy last night....

Yeah...I can't make this stuff up! on to another week!
