Summer break...friends, hiking and the razor's maiden voyage.

Last week I tried to keep the kids entertained. The weather was not great, so I did a lot of organizing and tried to do some crafting with the kids. Josie had a tie dye shirt kit that she got for her birthday...so we did that one day:)

Friday I let Josie and Landon each have a friend over. Josie's friend Isabel ended up staying the night with us and we decided to go on a hike saturday. We went to stevens creek. It is only 10 minutes from our house. The hike is pretty steep but it takes you to a bunch of cool rocks that are called the rocks of sharon.

When we got to the top we randomly ran into Landon's friends Rebel, his brother, and Logan, who had just been at our house on friday:)

They ended up inviting Landon over to their house and then had us over that night for a bonfire:) Josie had her hair cut and my friend put a pink  temporary strip in her hair...Josie thought that was pretty cool.
Sunday we ventured to Idaho/Montana with a bunch of friends and took our razor on it's first big ride. We rode over 70 miles. Most of the people who went have kids so Josie and landon had a blast. we did too! We all met at a gas station in Idaho. There ended up being 11 razors/side by sides...and over 35 people!
We parked at the idaho/montana border.

This little lake was so pretty.

both of the kids fell asleep..

The 'leader' of our group knew the area really well, so he took us to the top of a mountain...I was not sure that it was possible to go where he was saying, it was very steep and not really a trail. The video does not do it justice on how steep it was. It was fun, but landon was so tired he slept through the whole hill climb and never woke up until we got done with the ride.
This was going down the mountain that we climbed.

We had to wake landon up at the end.
surprisingly, Josie stayed awake for most of the trip!
 Some of the 'ladies'....
we would stop every so often for refreshments and socializing....Landon didn't get out on this stop:)

They have several warming shelters and restrooms set up in the area. Some of the local snowmobiler clubs maintain them. We had lunch at one of them, they have fire pits, tables and some even had makeshift couches. This was a toilet...the sign said 'this shitter was donated by lookout mtn skyriders'.

 Landon woke up!
My arm isn't long enough to get all 4 of us in a photo:)

blazing trails to the top of the mountain...

Rudy and Carli...reaching the top of the mountain.
It was freezing at the top...Hard to believe this is July! Josie and Lila were all bundled up!

We had a great adventure and can't wait to go again! Josie slept until 10 this morning and landon slept in too...I think they are having a fun summer:) Tomorrow I have to go back to work....bummer.
