1st day of school...and labor day weekend.

Wednesday Josie started the 4th grade. She was a little disappointed when she found out her best friend Isabel was not in her class, but she was excited to have Mrs. Smith. We have had such a busy summer we never got around to buying new school clothes. Thank goodness it was still warm out so she wore some left over summer clothes.

 Her Teacher, Mrs. Smith.
Josie's friend Emma is in her class this year.
Mrs. Smith gave all the kids hugs on their way into the classroom.
Luke and a bunch of the parents who have razors picked up the kids from school on the first day. I guess it is tradition to pick the kids up on the first and last day of school if you own a razor:) Josie was very excited and several kids asked her for a ride home;)

The razor pick up even made the school website!
Friday we headed to the St. Joe River. It is in idaho just east of saint maries. We camped at a campground with Rudy and Carli and a bunch of Carli's family.

We know a bunch of families who have property on the st. Joe. They have an around the world party where you go to 5 or 6 different people's property and each property has a theme. we were told to dress up like hippies for a 70's themed party....so we did.
 Carli's dad painted our faces.
Landon was not to sure about getting dressed up...but he went with it for pictures.
 Lila

 Veda is Carli's niece.

Off we went...

The kids wanted to stop and go fishing on the way...so we stopped at a campground up the road dressed like hippies to go fishing....we got some strange looks!

the parties were close together on a dirt road so all the kids rode in the back of the truck or our friends razor.
We showed up to the first stop but we were the only one's dressed up! Turns out rudy's info on the dress up was a little off, but we still rocked it. The way it works is that every stop has a theme with drinks and appetizers. But the theme's are a secret. So you don't dress up until people come to your party and it is your theme...well, our party was the last stop, so we were not supposed to dress up until the end...so we ended up spoiling the secret theme for our party, but oh well....we had fun. The first party was vegas themed so there was fake money, card tables and vegas show girls...
The second party was a knights of the round table theme...Landon and Jaxs had fun sword fighting.

our friends son, Gunnar is landon's buddy, so he rode to all the parties with him in their razor.
We made it to all 5 parties....headed back to the campground and crashed...It was a fun day. The nights were cold...and our travel trailer furnace somehow stopped working so we froze our buts off at night. It was pretty in the mornings though. I took this picture out our window in the travel trailer.
Sunday we went for a razor ride with a bunch of friends.
We headed up a trail and had to turn around half way up because a bunch of trees had fallen across the path.
It was a bit tricky trying to turn around on the narrow trail...but we made it.

We took a logging road to the top of baldy mountain.
Landon stopped to take a pee:)

 The view from the top.

Josie was on top of the building..
there was this old out house with no sides on it...Josie used it later on in the day;)

 veda, lila and Josie

Josie fell asleep on the way down...
We came back to camp and took the kids kayaking..

Jaxs and landon have started to get along and actually hang out and play.
Carli's sisters dogs like to sit and lay on each other..this is deeds and frankie:)

We had a fun weekend...Tomorrow is landon's first day of Kindergarten. He said that he didn't want me to take him to school, he wanted to ride the bus...I was kind of sad because Josie always wants me to take her on the first day. He is so different than Josie, it cracks me up. Happy Labor Day...
