Saturday we decided to go for a razor ride. There were 11 razors that went. The weather turned out to be good and we even hit some snow up on top of some of the ridges.

We stopped a few times and on one of the stops Josie asked if she could ride with her friend Scarlet. The kids like to ride with each other and I didn't really think it would be a problem. Scarlet's parents have a brand new razor, I think there was 7 miles on it when they showed up for the ride. I helped Josie put on her helmet and buckled her in. I had a quick mom moment of 'this razor doesn't have harnesses'. Razor's come with normal seat belts but most of us have put aftermarket harnesses in that makes it a little safer. We headed off down the trail. We were probably 6th or 7th back in line of the razors and we came up a hill to a big open spot. Right as we came up the hill I saw the razor that Josie was in and they were doing brodies or 'cookies'...something we normally do...well, the razor didn't make the whole circle and flipped on it's side. I panicked and couldn't get out of our razor fast enough....it's hard to get out of a harness quick. Everyone was ok. The seatbelt held josie, she was on the high side. We got everyone out and they were shook up but unhurt. The Razor ended up breaking an axle so they jimmy rigged it to make it back.

I think I may make my kids ride in our razor from now on. We continued on to a place called Calder Idaho. They have a store/restaurant and a population of 55..

Being as we were 1/3rd of the population when we showed up we asked the one guy working there if he could accommodate us for lunch. He said if all we ordered was chicken strips or cheeseburgers we could eat there...So thats what we ordered. There was no bartender so our friend josh became the bartender and took orders and wrote them down. only in a town of population 55 would this happen! A couple of the locals were there eating and they helped serve us food and clear the tables:) The chicken strips were raw but the cheeseburgers were pretty good, at least that is what people said. I lost my appetite when we were served the raw chicken:) We headed out but had to go a different way due to one of the razors not having an axle..Landon likes to ride with our friends brian and missy because they have a high seat in the back of the razor and he can see out better:)

We got about 5 miles from Calder and the razor with the broken axle broke completely. Not sure what exactly happened, but it was unmovable. Fortunately when he broke down we were on a logging road so they called a tow truck and came and picked up the razor. While we were waiting for the tow truck we made a fire and hung out.

 We took off right as it was getting dark, which was kind of fun...but cold!

 We made it back to the trucks safe and sound, It was quite a trip! We were going to stop and eat dinner but both kids fell asleep in the truck on the way home and we couldn't get them to wake up and go eat:)...so we went home! Sunday we drove up to Schweitzer to check out the condo that we are renting for the ski season this year. The one we rented last year is still for sale, but they didn't want to rent it again this season. We found a studio for rent up on the mountain which is small, but being on the mountain is a must when we spend every weekend there. Rudy and Carli are in the same building but not the same condo. It is small but not as bad as I thought it would be. Downstairs there is a sauna, game room and ski lockers.

We spent the afternoon in Sandpoint, went to lunch and let the kids do some crafting at a local free crafting place that we usually go to. Now we just need snow!!
