Motocross weekends and the end of summer break.

We ventured again to the Liberty Lake beach 2 fridays ago. It has become our friday hangout due to the really hot weather. We met my friend Lisa  and 2 of her kids.
 They found a caterpillar.

Landon and Trent. Trent is Josie's age.

The Last two weekends have been filled with more Motocross. There was a race in St. Maries Idaho so we headed down to see how racing was in St. Maries. Josie was with a friend that day, so we went with just Landon. There were over 20 little kids in Landon's race! They ended up splitting up his group into 2 separate ones. It was a pretty small track.
He rode his big bike for the first time in a race. He can't touch the ground so Luke made him blocks to stand on when he is at the starting line. He did really well, His new bike has a lot more power than his current bike so it was a little bit of a learning curve.

Landon had a lot of friends at the track:)

Landon and logan with their awards. Landon didn't place super high, but he still had fun and did well on his new big bike.

Here is a video of Landon...getting the hang of more power on his new bike. He ends up popping a wheely and riding out of it....and giving his mom a heart attack!
After a day of racing, Landon realized there was another race on sunday. I decided to head to the lake with Josie instead of another day of stressing out about my 6 yr old on a motorcycle:) Luke took Landon back on sunday. Josie and I met my parents and went fishing. It was a pretty good day of fishing.

Monday I had to work. It was the day of the Solar eclipse and we had a couple of pairs of glasses so we all shared and watched it. It was not as impressive as we were hoping. It got a little dim, but not dark like we were hoping.
Some Lady had a colander and the holes reflected the shape of the eclipse.

Kelsi, me and Dr. Henneberg were modeling nitrous nose pieces at work;)

This past weekend we went to the tri cities to go to another motocross race. This weekend was a 2 day race that is in a series of races called the Black Widow series. Josie was not interested in going so she headed up to the lake with my parents where they went boating, swimming and went to a rodeo. friday was just practice so we let landon practice the track all afternoon. When he was almost done his bike quit and we thought it ran out of gas. Well, it didn't so it was a mad dash at 5pm to find someone to help us fix his bike because luke had accidentally left all his tools at home. Long story short, we found a nice guy who owns a motorcycle shop who helped luke figure out and fix the problem. Turns out it was a clogged carburetor. by 6:30 we were up and running.

Luke and the nice man who helped fix landon's bike.
Saturday went well. Landon placed 3rd and 2nd, although the race people misplaced him again. The last time we were there they placed him dead last...when he wasn't. So we made sure to check up on it this time and once again it was wrong.
Here is his first race start...He was the first one to the first corner, which means he won the 'hole shot'. Our friend told him she would give him a dollar if he was first to the first corner...and he was!
Here he is with his dollar.

Landon with his award on the 1st day...nevermind the 'Moto Mom' in the background...I'm clearly under dressed for this sport:)
all the kids congratulating each other after the race.
Some celebratory ice cream in the hotel.
Sunday Landon played with his friend Dax in the sand for most of the morning.

Landon playing in the sprinklers before his race.
 2nd Place!

Landon had a fun weekend of racing, School starts on Wednesday so the end of summer break has arrived.
