Horse camp comes to an end....more boating.

Friday Landon and I headed out to pick up Josie from camp. I never heard from her all week, You can send your camper emails, but they just get to read them, they can't respond....I was excited to hear how the week went. Landon and I stopped along the way for a pit stop on the CDA river. Landon didn't want me to take his picture:)

Josie was excited to see us and gave us a tour of where she had slept. Apparently there was a wild rat in their cabin. Josie said they named it truffles and put out rat traps but never caught it.

This was where you washed your hands after the bathroom.
They had a family BBQ and then the kids put on a performance with their horses and sang us a song. Josie and her friend Gracey.
They sang a song for all the parents.
The kids put on a routine.

I was so proud of Josie, she received the Helping Hands award. Her councilor said she was always jumping in to help. This was way better than her 'most likely to lose something' award a couple of years ago at Camp Zanika.
Josie's horse was named Doc.
After the performance and awards the kids took the horses back to the barn and brushed them. It was a hot week, but Josie had a great time.

This was the barn where they had a hoe down the night before.

Josie and Doc.

The kids spent the night on a small island in the middle of this river on a tarp one night. As we were leaving a thunder storm was rolling in.
The kids got to float the CDA river, climb rock walls, do arts and crafts, and of course went on trail rides and rode horses every day. Josie said she wants to come back next year.

On the way home we stopped for ice cream and sat and watched the thunder storm.

Josie wrote us all letters at camp.

Saturday we took the boat out to Blue Lake, it's a small lake off of the CDA river, which is connected to CDA Lake CDA is (Coeur delane )

 The kids did some tubing.
We stopped at a town called Harrison to get ice cream. You can pull your boat up to the dock and go get it.

we came home late, Walter was not happy with us. He stood on the automan and stared at me:)
Sunday we headed out again, this time we brought Lila) Landon did some surfing again.
Josie and lila just wanted to belly surf:)
I think it actually takes more work to belly surf than to actually surf, but the girls like it.
I think the kids jumped off the back of the boat a hundred times:)

 Josie

we made another stop at Harrison for ice cream!
 More tubing.

we spent the whole weekend on the water, which was nice. The kids were really worn out. Here are Josie and Landon flipping off the back of the boat:) They like me to video and see who does a better job, or who gets the biggest splash.
