After loosing both of our outdoor cats over the past year the kids were really wanting to get some more. We took them to Scraps, a local rescue shelter in Spokane on Saturday. Lucky us they were 50% off, so for 35 bucks you get a kitten, it's shots and it's spay or neuter. Quite the deal. The kids know that because we live in the country, the chances of the kittens disappearing again are high. The shelter has a 'get acquainted' room. So you can bring your kitten in a room and get to know them. I think the kids had every kitten in the shelter in the room. It was a tough choice, but they finally made a decision. It was a family event, My mom was here and Lila wanted to come too.
Josie finally made her choice. Oliver, a calm fixed kitten that was in a foster home for a few weeks and loves people.
Landon's kitten, Roxy. A wild and feisty female that just showed up at the shelter the day before. She will go back on friday and get spayed.
Josie and Lila stayed at home hanging with the kittens saturday night while the rest of us went to the track to watch Landon do some Super cross. I wasn't going to go, but Landon really wanted me to watch him, so I went:) Here he is with his friend Kellen.
Landon is really progressing, it's fun to watch him but terrifying all at the same time.
When we were there a kid broke his collar bone and wrist, a girl had a bad wreck and I think there were a few more 'mishaps'. None of this seems to deter Landon, but it freaks me out. Here is his friend Kellen starting too soon, hitting the gate and flipping over the handle bars...he was ok.
A hole shot is when you are the first bike to the end of the first corner. Landon won the hole shot in one moto...there was a bigger bike that was racing with Landon's class, so he was out front, but landon won out of the bikes his same size. Landon has the orange helmet.
At the end of the night landon finished 4th overall in both of his classes. We got home late and headed to bed. Sunday we got up and headed for the lake. Carli, Lila and Jaxs came with us this time.
Stopping at Harrison for ice cream has become a tradition.
