Missing teeth, Motocross crashes and the first day of school.

Last week Landon's front tooth was very loose. He decided to tie a piece of string to his loose tooth and the other end to his El toro Loco monster truck:)

 Friday night Landon was racing his motorcycle and crashed. I rarely go watch because it stresses me out too much and it also gives me and josie some girl time. When Landon crashed he hurt his stomach on the handle bars but got back up, finished the race and then raced another moto afterwards. When Luke and Landon came home that night I went to give Landon a hug and he yelled 'Ouch!' His arm was swollen and it hurt to touch it. The next morning Luke took him to urgent care and they said it was hard to tell, but they thought it was either broken or fractured. They put him in a big splint and wanted us to see an orthopedic doctor this week. Landon thought it was pretty cool to have a splint, although he was really bummed he couldn't race in the supercross that night.

 I had to laugh at his medical stats from the Dr. He is still only in the 19th percentile for height and weight.

That afternoon we had to head back to the track to return Landon's bike transponder and get our money back for him not racing that night. We headed to the local walmart to grab some stuff and saw this bumper sticker on the back of this huge truck....It says YOU GUYS SILLY, i'M STILL GONNA SEND IT....In motocross you 'send it' when you launch off of a jump:)

One of our ski racing parent friends is an orthopedic doctor and he was able to look at Landon's x rays sunday on his computer. He said there was something not right and was able to get us in monday morning. I think after having a splint on for 2 days the 'coolness' factor started to wear off. Bathing was a challenge.

 Sleeping was awkward...

 The Dr. said that Landon may have a hairline fracture but you can't see the on the x rays until they start to heal. He thought that the muscles around his arm were hurt and contributing to a lot of his pain. He said we could take the big splint off and then just keep him calm for a week or so and he should be OK....He has 2 girls, so I don't think he realized how 'not calm' Landon is:) We decided that he should at least wear the sling while at school so people would be conscience of his arm and not tackle him at recess to aggravate it more. Even the dr. said 'he really dodged a bullet'.  Landon said he still wants to race and wasn't scared by the crash.

Monday was the school's open house where the kids get to find out what teacher they get. Josie is now in 6th grade which is middle school. She went to the school a little early with her friend Isabel to get  their lockers and schedules. 

Landon got Mrs. Cochrane, who Josie had when she was in 1st grade. I made the kids pose for their annual 1st day of school photos. I haven't taken the kids school shopping for any new clothes, Landon Just wears his usual gym shorts with tall socks:) He doesn't have any pants that fit him so I should probably get him some before the weather changes too much.

 Josie has mastered opening her locker. Her friend Rowan has the locker next to her and Isabel has the one above her.

 Josie was nervous for middle school. At freeman the middle school is about 10 yards away from the elementary school, it's all the same kids and 6th grade is in it's own hallway.

 I walked Landon to his class from the playground. Here he is with Kiah. Apparently they have been boyfriend/girlfriend since Kindergarten.

 Landon had picked a seat right up front.

 Both kids had a great first day. We celebrated at the end of the day by going out to dinner with rudy and carli....Josie and I both ordered margaritas:)...Josie's was alcohol free.

This weekend we are going to head up to Schweitzer and work on the bedroom in the condo. They also have a big beer fest called fall fest we might hit up one day.
