Smoke....

The Kittens are settling in and the kids are taking good care of them:) We have been keeping them in the garage and slowly letting them outside to make sure they don't run away.

Saturday we headed up to Lake Roosevelt to spend the weekend on the water with my parents. The air was pretty smoky, but it was warm and we had a fun day hanging out on the beach.

We went to bed and woke up to thick smoke. The sun couldn't break through so it wasn't very warm and the smell was like you were standing in front of a campfire. We decided that boating was out of the question and headed home.

We had brought Walter with us this weekend. He loves to run up and down the beach and chase waves all day. His poor paws get raw and he gets really worn out. I think he was glad we were not going to the beach again:)
We thought the smoke might be better at home, but it was just as thick.

Instead of boating on what should have been a hot, clear, 90 degree day...we spent doing chores around the house, playing games and trying to stay indoors. Josie and Lila made banana bread.

 Landon and Jaxs played trucks.
The air quality is apparantly in the Hazardous category....such a bummer when we just want to be outside playing in the sun.

This is the last week of summer for the kids. Landon is super excited for school to start. Josie is a little nervous for middle school but excited. Hopefully the smoke clears and we can enjoy the last few weekends of summer.
