Crystal Mountain and a Home series race.

Last Thursday Josie left for a skiing competition at Crystal Mountain. We didn't go with her, she rode with the team. Luke dropped her and her friend Izzy off thursday evening.
The team took 2 vans. There were only 4 girls who went.

Josie sent me this picture of mt Rainier.
The free ride team competes on steep terrain and is judged on the line they take and if they do any tricks. This was the venue. It was called the Throne.
Josie is in this picture. It was posted by some guy in a group text among racers. There was a photographer who took a ton of pictures of the competition but hasn't uploaded them yet. I'm waiting to see if there are any of josie on the course.

These are some pics off of Josie's phone. Saturday she competed and then Sunday she went back country skiing with some of her team.

The kids hiked into some back county run and skied fresh powder.

aparantly this is what they hiked into and skied off of.

There are not very many girls who do the free ride competitions. Josie's group had 14 girls ages 12-14. Josie ended up placing 5th! We were so proud of her. It was her first free ride competition at a mountain she had never been to and was there without parents! They give awards to 5th place, so Josie won a prize.
Josie went shopping and sent me this picture of what she bought us. Josie didn't get back to spokane until 10:20pm on Sunday night. I went and picked her up and we got home close to 11pm. She was wiped out. Josie said she had a great time and can't wait to go to the next competition.
Meanwhile....back at Schweitzer. Landon had a home series race. He ended up placing 2nd.
Landon and his buddy Rhys. Rhys took 3rd.
Landon and Wyatt. Wyatt took 1st.
Saturday night was the SARS auction so Landon spent the night with Rhys and we went to the auction. I only got 1 pic of me and my friend Lisa at the auction.
Landon and Jaxs
this coming weekend is the ski racing finals at Lookout pass. Landon is currently is 1st place for the overall points race but it is a close race between him and his 2 friends. He is really wanting to win the 'big trophy' this weekend so we shall see how he does!
