Dad's Birthday weekend

Friday night Josie's race series was cancelled due to heavy wet snow/rain.  We ended up just hanging out at the condo and playing games. Saturday I Skied with Josie in the morning and Landon skied with Luke. Most of Josie's team was away at a different mountain racing. Josie has the option to travel to different mountains in our area to compete and race. We are not that hard core yet with her racing, so we just stay at Schweitzer. They can still ski with a coach at Schweitzer when the other kids are away, but I never get to ski with her so I took advantage of hanging out with my girl. Josie tried to get me to go down Austrailia...A Double Black Diamond!! I didn't even know there was such a thing. I have never skied that run and didn't want to die, so I told her we would just stick to the groomed runs:) I am so proud of how far she has come with her skiing. I think I might take some lessons so I can ski with her! Here she is in front of the Double Black Diamond run that she tried to get me to go down:)
She took a run with Landon in the morning. She let him lead and followed him the whole way. She is a good big sister:)
Saturday evening me and the kids headed to Ellensburg to celebrate my dad's birthday. His birthday was on wednsesday and we had not seen my parents since before Christmas so we went to visit. The kids didn't have school today (monday) so we took advantage of the extra day and stayed sunday and monday. Sunday morning the kids helped make pancakes.
We took the kids to Jo Watt Canyon. It is an area by my parents house where they feed the Elk and you can see tons of them up close. There is also a huge sledding hill. The snow was very firm and the hill was pure ice! The kids were able to sled down the hill with no sled it was so slick.
Here is a picture of the elk in the field. they were not very close to the fence this time so they were hard to photograph with my phone.

someone had made a snow couch.
My dad has recovered from his hip surgery and was able to come play in the snow with us:)
We went out to lunch and ran some errands that afternoon. Today we hung out and the kids enjoyed playing in the trees and out in the field with the dogs:)

 Dad on the Tractor.
We crammed a lot into our weekend! It always goes by so fast. Happy Birthday Dad...We love you!

Thank you for the great weekend and the Bday gifts. But the greatest gift is the fun times with you and Josie and Landon. So much fun watching the kids sled and play in the snow. Great lunch and just happy times with you guys. Love you all Dad
