Rhonda took these pictures in our back yard.
Saturday Andrea and Rhonda left for Walla Walla. My parents came over from Ellensburg with the horses and dropped them off at a barn that they found. We got the horses settled and then went up to the Lake to drop off a bunch of their stuff. They have to be out of their house in Ellensburg by this coming weekend and then they will be up at Lake Roosevelt full time. It was 95 degrees so we took a break and went swimming.
Sunday morning we took Josie to Camp Zanika. It is about 35 minutes north of Leavenworth on Lake Wenatchee. From our house that is about 3 hours and 45 minutes away. Josie wanted to go to this camp because her friend Jayna was going. Jayna has been Josie's friend since they were born. They are 2 weeks apart age wise. Jayna lives in Wenatchee. Camp Zanika is a camp fire camp where they do archery, horseback riding, swimming and all sorts of camp stuff. She was really excited and didn't seem to mind when we said goodbye. The campers are not allowed to call home or contact us, which is the hardest part for me. They can write letters, so I will eagerly wait for mail to come!
The drive there josie slept...while landon disassembled and reassembled his jeep. He now says he wants to be a mechanic.
We met Jane and Jayna at a brewery in Leavenworth. There were 4 other girls that knew Jayna that were all going too. they are all in the same cabin. We got to camp and checked in....every girl got the lice check:)
Then they wheeled their bags to the cabins.
This is their cabin...the cabin name is rotary.
Josie got the top bunk right above Jayna
I hope she is this happy when I pick her up on saturday!
Josie and her counselor 'Tiger Lily'. All of the camp staff have fake names. At the end of camp the kids try and guess their real names. If another staff member calls a counselor by their real name they get thrown in the lake.
The whole cabin
This is the dining hall and community area. boys are at the camp too, but their cabins are on the other side of the community area.
this is lake wenatchee and the beach area where the kids will hang out.
I hope she has a good time. I will pick her up on Saturday morning.
